Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
and whose hope is the Lord.
The Lord speaks as follows: Cursed is the man
who trusts in man and considers the weak flesh
as his support, and whose heart turns away from
the Lord. For he is like thorns in the desert: he does
not feel when happiness is near, he spends
his days in the dried-up wilderness,
in a salty, uninhabited land.
